And how do I get rid if the redness around my nostrils?/:

Exfoliate with a salicylic acid scrub (I like the Neutrogena Rapid Clear line), and use pore strips 1-2 times a week. That should help a bit.

I do exfoliate and I've tried strips beforre and they don't work/: but thanks anyways(:

And the redness...try soothing lotions/thicker creams. That can be due to irritation or dryness, sometimes I just apply a thicker lip balm to the area to keep away the dryness.

Besides which, I had awful blackheads for forever. I got a Clarisonic, and it's worked wonders. The vibrations are designed to loosen and remove blackheads, and salicylic acid works to dissolve the bacteria and dirt built up in your pores.

Have you tried using clay or mud masks to draw out the congestion in your pores?

Aztec Indian Clay mask mixed with organic apple cider vinegar. Use just once a week in that area should take care of it. Both can be found at any health food store for around $10. With any treatment you go for do not expect results to take place overnight. It takes time and a whole lot of patience. You may have to go topical for your exfoliation versus using a scrub. Glycolic acid serum of at least 10% is worth looking into. You can only use it at night but it really does a great job at cleaning out the pores.

What scrub should I get Shelley?

I would consider using nose pore strips x

You have a mix between pores and blackheads. Don't worry, everybody gets them. I would start out using blackhead nose strips. I recommend the brand Biore because they work nicely. Keep using a facil wash. I use Clean and Clear products which has my skin healthy. Good luck:)

You could go get a facial they can open up your pores and extract them. I agree w Shelley w the clay mask and the glycolic acids. I'd add trying a charcoal mask and some bha leave on treatments the bha will really help clean out your pores

@Natalie...I don't think the typical scrub will do much good. I suggest getting Alpha Hydrox Glycolic gel 10%. You can find it at ULTA for about $10.99 (print up their $3.50 off coupon that can be found on their website). Don't bother with those pore strips...such a huge scam with those as they don't go deep into the pores to pull anything out. They just essentially shave off what's surfaced above the skin giving you the false peace of mind that your pores are clear.

If you can get a facial and ask for extractions because your nose is very impacted, then after its clear ,do the skincare routine that Shelley suggested.

Get the Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub. It's a gentle salicylic acid scrub that works wonders.

@Lisa...I remember seeing that! I wish those things would just go away. Those strips hold no redeeming qualities at all.

Clarisonic! With any face wash containing salicylic acid...it's a bit pricey but you won't regret it.

I would definitely buy the clarisonic but it's to expensive and I don't have any money cause I dony have a job/: I wish I could.

I agree with Shelley.
Forget the pore strips. They just remove surface dead cells not black heads. I've been performing facials and peels for over 7 years. And in order to remove blackheads = steaming and professional removal is key (facial) and along with a glycolic peel to smooth out skin And a good calming mask to rid out redness.
