I'm 15 and want to wear red lips, but am afraid of the boldness. Does anybody have any good tips to ease into a red lip? I have a medium skin tone.

Start with a red lipgloss. It's a little younger and fresher, as well as being more sheer. Steadily build up the opacity until you're confortable with a lipstick. Or you could use a stain, since those are subtle too.

ease red lips by blotting on a tissue. And ask your Mom first if she's ok with you wearing red lipstick or makeup.

Since you're young, I would say try a gloss or a sheer red lipstick. If you're afraid of something bold, matte red lipstick would probably be too much. Also try wet n wild because they are really inexpensive and look night. I agree with Mary P though. Definitely get the ok from your parents when it comes trying out bold lip or makeup in general.

Korres has an amazing lip butter in a burgundy color that is not too strong. It's just the perfect mix of color without being too strong.

I'm younger than you and I like wearing a red lip whenever I get the chance. For everyday wear, try a sheer tinted red balm or a sheer lipgloss. I would recommend going to Sephora and swatching products on the back of your hand to see how opaque they are!

I started out using a stain because I could control how dark it got and then put a lighter gloss to tone it down if I wasn't feeling confident about it. That also helps I decide the intensity you might want with a lipstick (:

I would definitely recommend a revlon lip butter in a red color. Those are perfect to start off with if you're going for a bold color on your lips. They start off sheer but you can carefully build it up to your liking. :) hope it helps love!
