I wanted a CK perfume set, a new curling wand, and the Stila In The Know palette...
...but after reading about their work, I decided to pledge my Christmas to charitywater.org , which basically means in lieu of gifts, I'm asking my friends and family to donate to Charity Water on my behalf. Just $65 can bring clean water to a family in Cambodia, which kind of puts everything I selfishly asked for to shame. It's easy to turn your back on all of the suffering and poverty and injustice around the world, because it can be so overwhelming that ignoring it seems like the only option. I think it's important to just take time to give back, in whatever way you feel most comfortable and happy doing it.
