Hey guy's ive just entered the world of make-up and was wondering has anyone any tips on climbing the food chain (make-up world) as a Make-Up artist..??

I started by getting a job as a free-lance make up artist for a large cosmetics brand. I worked 15-20 hours every weekend at special events in different cities in my area and got a ton of experience that way. Then I began doing friend's makeup for their weddings and events, usually asking the photographer to take a few close-up faceshots and asking if I could use their photos in my portfolio with photo credit (No one has ever been put-off by that, as long as they know you'll credit them.) Build a website, facebook page, network, voila!
