I'm really considering going.. I would like to hear some experiences and advice. I'm still trying to make my mind up.
A big question I have is: how hard is it to find a job in the cosmetology field?

Thanks for your time :).

My aunt went and I don't think it was that hard for her to find a job. She works at a salon.

Most everyone from my class found a job but a lot have switched around to different salons within the past year. You need to do your research on salons to find one that's a perfect fit and you need to be patient when you start working becauae you will not be busy, it takes time to build a clientele. I'm so happy that I went to cosmo school, it was one of the best decisions I ever made. if its truly what you want to do then go for it, but just know that it won't be easy. In this field you will learn that you really need a backbone or else people will break you, being. cosmetologist has really pushed me out of my box I used to be extremely shy and now I'm outgoing. I love what I do and wouldn't change anything about it, I change peoples day around and bring out their outer beauty to match their inner beauty!

Find your passion, first, then pursue it. Many, many people drop out of cosmetology school because they think it's all fun and hairstyling. But we actually learn about the structure of the hair, skin and nails, we have to learn about sanitation and various diseases. So I suggest you only go to cosmo school if you absolutely LOVE hair. Good luck to you!

Oh! We have to take exams, too! (depending on the school)

There are several career options available to beauty school graduates, ranging from salon/spa stylists to freelancing (and everything in between). At TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academies, part of our cosmetology program focuses on career preparedness, including how to market yourself, how to build your clientele (to take with you after graduating), and even the basics like building a portfolio and putting together a winning resume. Our beauty schools also offer job placement assistance and career services to students. As long as you develop your skills and have the portfolio to prove it, starting your cosmetology career will be one of the most rewarding feelings of your life thus far.

If you have any further questions, or want to chat with an admissions representative, please don't hesitate to contact the TONI&GUY Hairdressing Academy nearest you. http://www.toniguy.edu
