When I saw Chanel's Spring 2014 L/E collection I was pumped because I actually loved the color story. Lo and behold I was strolling thru Dillard's last night and saw the collection out on display. I lost my mind and a few items went home with me. The coral/pink/red lippie (#138 Fougueuse) translated a bright pink on my lips ( and a bit drying) along with the Red Raspberry Lipliner. The Illusion 'd Ombre (a cream shadow) in Diapason which is a violet plum was a glitter bomb. The only hits was the cream blush in Intonation which is a bright coral pink. I haven't tried the 4 shade eye palette yet but the other stuff was sent out with the hubby this morning to return. What L/E collection has been a yay or a nay for you recently?

I wish it was just a bad batch. My hubby spoke with the associate who handled the return and she even said she was kinda let down by the performance of a few items. The lipstick I know is a gamble because of my pigmented lips but I have MAC shades that stay true to color. It swatched so beautifully in store though. :( The only high-end lippies that have been surpise hits for me has been from Tom Ford and Kevin Aucoin. But you are so correct Velen...high-end doesn't always equal great performance. I'll let you know how the eyeshadow palette works out Velen. *fingers crossed*

I don't own any chanel yet but I want some soo bad lol what are some good things to get?

@Traci...the fragrances are awesome! Can't go wrong with there.I'm not a fan of the Glossimer line (lip glosses) because I actually find the one's from Bobbi Brown (the high shimmer one's) to contain just a little more pigmentation and more long wearing plus its at a lower price point. Either one works great when layering over lipstick though. The Pure Shine Intense Lip Gloss...these have way more pigmentation than the Glossimers though with the darker shades you have to be careful because they will accecentuate every crack and crevice on the lips. I love the shade #57 Insolence.A nice coral pink and #69 Merveille...a nude. I think you would love shades as well. The lipliners are OK. They do not tug on the lips but its not a must buy for me as I love my affordable options more. But the Precision Lip Definer does come with a brush on the other end so you can use to apply lipstick from the tube. Mascara's I would skip...they are nothing earth shattering in my opinion. Eyeshadows...its a definite hit/miss with them. I find a lot of them to be too powderery for my liking and in the past I had to completely white out my eye using NYX Jumbo Pencil in "milk" to get colors to show up on me...and that's even including some of the dark shades. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this latest palette I have is a hit rather than a miss. The cream blushes are a dream while the some of the powder blushes you really have to go in multiple times with your brush to make it translate onto the face. If looking for a understated cheek powder is the way to go. I think more fair skin beauties receive the most benefit from powder. But those cream blushes...love,love,love!! Nail polish. Back in the day I used to collect them but now at $27 a pop its a no go for me. It has be a super unique, out of this world color for me to justify the purchase.

You're welcome Traci. :) Check to see if your area department stores released it yet. The press release I read said one thing about the Spring 2014 release date but obviously Chanel flipped the script because my husband said he saw it in Neiman Marcus a few days ago and Nordstrom even has it online. Happy shopping girl. :)

When I was in Vegas a few months back I bought a beautiful black chanel shadow. It was my first chanel, so I had high hopes, but the glitter fall out is bad. I couldn't believe how bad it was. Unfortunately I didn't notice this till I was on my home or I would have returned it and where I live, we don't have chanel botiques. I wish I knew of a way to limit it cause the color is awesome, just the fallout comes down and I have black spots all over my face by the end of the night. :(

Write them a letter Leslie. ugh..
Dec 19, 2013
Shelley W.
@Leslie...try an eye primer that leaves behind a semi-sticky texture behind so it has something to adhere to. There is other product you can use and I can't remember the name of it but you can either apply it on top of the shadow or mix it with the shadow. It won't budge till you remove it. Maybe you can post a thread asking about that. I'm sure Jacqueline would know. She's a MUA. With my shadows that give fallout I just apply before I apply my foundation so I don't mess up my canvas.

I just bought the too face glitter glue. I'm going to try it. Just have that I spent $40 on a single shadow and have to be forced to use a primer with it. Will be trying this weekend, will keep you posted ladies :)
