I have recently been through tough situations I think the stress has caused swollen, painful spots. would apple cider vinegar help it? or anything else.?

That sounds dangerous, I would get that checked by a doc asap.

It's possible to get acne like breakouts on your scalp. If they feel what a pimple would feel like then I can share my remedy with you (I've gotten these before) Wash your hair with head and shoulders or dandruff shampoo with those ingredients. Both zinc and and salicylic acid are good for treating acne! Use the shampoo once a day for two days and then eveeyother day when until your breakout is feels less severe. Whenever you can Mix castor and almond oil and massage into your scalp, leave in for 30 mins, and then wash out like normal. Castor is a cleansing oil and almond helps lubricate your scalp and aid in healthy hair growth :) hope this helps!

It may be an acne breakout like Anupa said or it could possibly be a skin condition called sebberic determitis... I know I probably spelled it wrong...
But it is like little patches that are red and scale like. They hurt and itch. They are also caused by stress, weather changes and or hormonal changes.
It's like eczema. You can't get rid of it but you can control it. Try selsun blue or head and shoulders shampoo
If it's not going away you may want to go to your doctor

I have a skin condition like natalie c. said its like dry red patches. I havent had any problems with it for along time. I'd try a dandruff shampoo or a special shampoo you get from the doctor. just don't itch it.

I would try a t-sal shampoo any brand honestly, they all have the same ingredients. If that doesn't work I would see a dermatologist to be safe.
