Use lotion or a cuticle oil daily. After you get out of the shower, push your cuticles back with an orange stick.

Also, while you're cleaning use those big yellow latex gloves to prevent your nails from breaking

Yeah, don't cut them. They keep you from bad bacteria, I belive. Try cuticle remover. You can find it at Target or even Sally Beauty Supply. (:
