Personally, I like both but gel liner would have to be my preference. I love the ELF Studio Cream Eyeliner in Black. That's my go-to gel liner. I've also seem many beauties on here who love the MAC Fluidline (mostly in Blacktrack) and the Inglot Gel Eyeliners.

I really think it depends on your skill level. Liquid takes a lot more practice and a steady hand where personally I think gel is easier to use but looks nearly the same. If I'm going for a more dramatic look I'll reach for the liquid but gel all the way! I used to have the maybeline one but when that ran out I invested in a Mac one and love it!

I prefer gel. It's easier to apply and lasts longer without smudging.

i love gel eyeliner, but it really depends on the look. if i want a thin line, then i use a liquid, but if i want a thick line and a cat eye i use gel i like the maybellene gel eyeliner it works great i've had it for months & it still has yet to dry out.

I love gel eyeliners there is a much broader color range with them, Inglot gel liners are my # 1 without a doubt the best eyeliner ever.

I've been trying to use liquid for years with no luck, I definitely don't have a steady hand! I've mostly used pencils until recently when I bought my first gel liner by Maybelline.. I love it! Will be using gel from now on for sure.

i personally am not a fan of liquid liner whatsoever.... the only liquid liner i have ever really liked was stila's..
with me, i like a matte black line. liquid liner goes on opaque, but it doesn't counterbalance the shimmer of eyeshadow. gel liner is also a multiuse product for one's makeup kit. i use fluidline in blacktrack at the moment, but i have used everything from elf t bobbi brown to tarte's gel liner. i can use it over my primer for a smokey eye, i can apply it to my bottom lashes without it bleeding into my eyes... i believe gel liner is more intense if you choose to layer the liner, but can be soft, smokey, and feminie when needed.

Gel is more long lasting and dosent smudge as easily, so it is better for everyday. Liquid liners can be winged out and come in lots of cool colors

Maybelline line stiletto liquid eyeliner has a fine tip and doesn't gunk out too much product when you apply it

I use mac fluid line with stila's liquid liner on top and I can promise you theres nothing in the world (apart from make up remover of course!) that will take that stuff off.

I just bought gel and its not that bad. I remember when liquid was scary to me and I had no idea about gel now I hate pencils lol but I like liquid with the right felt tip and gel takes some getting used to but its allows a different type of control. liquid feels more permanent but gel seems more workable and easiery to fix mistakes

I use Inglot's gel liner currently, and I think that with gel liners, the trick is to use the right brush, as some might cause the line to be spotty and slightly uneven. You can also improve the staying power by running some similar-colored eyeshadow over it with a clean brush.

I use maybelline stiletto liner with the waterproof mascara. That is until their new mascara came out. OMG my lashes look like falsies and the liner stays strong also.
