I have quite long light brown hair with blonde highlights (2 weeks ago got huge cut and highlights) but its still getting knotted and bad matts! Its sore :( I wash and conditioner my hair every second day (followed by argan oil) and use henna wax treatment once a week, I have curls and use no heat and wear my hair in a bun after washing to sleep which could be the problem!! Any ways I can wear my wer hair, so its curls nice and dsnt leave frizzy ends? I can't go on with the matting its to bad. Please help me :( xxx

My hair is the same way, the only way I really fix it is when my curls start knotting I run conditioner through them and finger f detangle..

A leave-in conditioner and deep conditioning your hair will help (:

Agree Magaly 100%, even if a hair doctor told me that leave in products are bad for haie, I consider them to be a good remedy to help reducind hair knotting. And recently I've bought a new comb and have nottices that my hair doesn't knott that much...

Will defo try a leave in conditioner, because I have curly hair I only brush before washing it otherwise I get attack of the frizz monster lol is there a good way to tie wet hair to sleep in so to reduce the knottiness?

I braid mine that's the best then in the morning I take it out and spray it with a little water to get my curl back.

I never sleep with wet hair cause I have a monster hair in the morning and it's still wet... But I guess all the curly love to do it ( including my mom))))))) You could make more braids to get a lot of well defined curls:-)

Long hair will always tangle and matt if you don't brush every day - I find these things to be helpful - brush hair before you shower - its easier to manage then when it gets wet - then obviously brush the hair when wet and before applying any styling products - after applying products comb them through to ensure even coverage - otherwise detangling spray also helps to brush wet hair and helps to keep it untangled until it dries.

Braid your hair, it'll help control the way it sets. Try using argon oil sparingly on dry hair as well, it'll help keep the ends sleek.

Buy a Tangle Teaser!! they're amazing and I work in a salon and wear by them!!

All of this advice I agree completely with. The tangle teezer is absolutely amazing. I don't use Combs anymore, especially after doing highlights on sometime. You spray in some leave in Cond and get your tangle teezer and you're good to go! :)

It was up in bun all day so maybe thats why it gets so knotty?

You could try getting it thinned out. That will basically put layers in your hair (very very small ones, underneath the top layers) that won't be noticeable - if your hair is pretty thick it will help a TON.

Emma, I think that hair is getting knotted because it is dry or damaged, not because of wearing buns:-)

I just had s huge cut like 2 week ago and use henna wax deep treatment weekly along with argan oil after each wash, its looking glossy and smooth just now Nd tends to get really scruffy after wearing it in a messy bun :/

This has been happening with my hair lately too. mine is thick, wavy unless I blow it dry, and down to my belly button. I brush/comb through mine three times a day to prevent it, and wash it in the morning only, usually let it air dry before work. I have been using a reparative hair mask weekly (monoi by carol's daughter) which you rinse out completely and has been helping a ton. whenever I use a leave in detangler or conditioner it just gets worse. I do use argan oil on my ends and a heavy weight conditioner, and try to cowash (shower daily). I almost cut off my hair last week but it started getting better. your hair is likely super dry. braiding before bed will help a lot. good luck!
