I find it a little easier and you get more control if you make the wing with a very well sharpened pencil then going over it and filling it in with the eyeliner your using (liquid or gel)

Liquid gives a more precise line but requires more practice and precision. Gel is better if you're just starting.

I agree with fanny liquid is really precise and with practice you will see it becomes easier.
