Well my top 3 that I've tried last summer was elf (as a starter), then I bought a Mac one, and then I bought a Nars one. I prefer the Nars however if you want to not be broke after buying it I'd suggest elf!

Ah if I was at home I'd let you know I'm currently at my boyfriends. But what I always suggest is that you should go to a makeup counter like Mac and see what shades would work best for you. If you don't have a Mac any makeup counter that has a selection of lip sticks work. Let me check my little makeup bag maybe I have it with me!

I have one by Revlon called honey bare. I'm brown skin. I wore it they this summer. its a shine so its kinda sheer but still plenty of color..not sparkly.
the others I wear are by Mac but they were limited editions from a yr or two ago.
try milani too. they have some cute bares but I havebt bought one myself yet.
