So I was wondering , if your hair has to be wet for waves in the morning. I know you can plait it over night but does it has to be wet or not x

Depends on your hair. Mine I can't have wet cuz it won't dry so I do mine already dry. So yes you can do also dry.

It can be damp, not soaking. And braid it loosely with a few drops of argan oil to prevent your hair drying out or frizzing at night.
