Bobby pins

I have super long hair, the key is to pony tail it first, and the twist from about half way down, and the twirl it around the ponytail holder and bobby pins! It always works! Just practice. :)

Get a chignon, or just get an old long sock, cut the tip and roll it into a donut shape.

To make the bun you tie your hair in a ponytail, put the chignon (or sock) at the top of your ponytail and roll your hair under it, spreading the hair around as you go down. Maybe google a sock bun tutorial, I wasn't quite sure on how to explain it.

Check out the sock bun tutorial we have her on the site !

Hairnets!
Believe me, they aren't just for lunch ladies. Just twist and fold it 2-3 times then put it on top of the bun, bobbypinning it in place

Def lookup sock bun.. I have real long hair and on my casual days i go for the buns.. Sock bun looks good on long hair and i also do i messy bun.. I put my hair in a ponytail first and put my finger at the top of my pontail and with my other hand i wrap my hair around the ponytail with my finger in place so it still gives it that donut bun look jus alil messy n i bobbypin it... Not sure if i explained properly lol but jus play with it n you'll find wat works best for u sweety...

For layers, I'd recommend doing a bun using a rope braid. I do this a lot on my own hair since it's very long, but also on girls with layers, because the rope braid hides the ends a little better.

If you don't know how to do that, here are the steps I follow:
1. Pull all the hair into a ponytail (high or low is your choice; it will determine the location of the bun).
2. Split the ponytail into two sections. It will help to hold one in each hand.
3. Twist both sections separately in the same direction (both to the left or both to the right). This is essential to the rope braid.
4. Twist the two sections around each other in the opposite direction (if you twisted them to the left, twist them around each other to the right, and vice versa). Wrapping the hair in the opposite direction creates the tension that the rope braid needs to stay twisted. Continue this motion all the way down the ponytail.
5. Wrap the rope braid into a bun around the base of the braid, either pinning as you go or pinning once it is all wrapped.
6. Tuck any loose ends and pin them under the bun.
And you're done!

The rope braid is the tricky part and can take some practice, but this is a lovely bun and your ends won't stick out as badly. Hope this helped! (Attached is a somewhat blurry picture of the final bun.)

Try a sock bun. but the key to getting all the little strays is to do it while your hair is still moist

Make a pony tail at the top of your head and twist it than secure with another pony tail holder if your going for a more messy look. If you want clean use a lot of bobby pins.

Put it in a ponytail, get an old sock close to your hair color, cut the to off and roll it into a donut shape, pull your ponytail through the middle and spread your hair over the donut the put a hair tie over it and take bobby pins and pin the rest up or take the donut and slide it to the top of your ponytail and start rolling downward moving the hair over the sock as you go. Hope it helped!

Buy a donut from Primark. Put hair in pony tail, place donut over top and put hair over donut. Secure with a bobble. Pin any loose bits.

If you want to be able to take your hair down and wear it after wearing a bun without re washing use the sick bun---gives wave/curl. If you are going to be washing it after the bun go for a donut sold at Sally's and wear a more elegant bun!

Instead of securing it with bobby pins, put another hair tie around it. :)

Used to have waist length hair and would bun it. Agree with the twisting. I used hair-sticks to keep it in place

I like the sock bun but I don't need one of those foamy things or a ponytail....... I start by taking all my hair then I twist it tight not too tight to wear it hurts but tight enough so it won't unravel. Then I twist it a little more and shape it like a Cinnabon then I take the ends and wrap it around a couple times. After that I hold it with one hand and tie it with a hair tie maybe 2-3 times and it stays great. My hair doesn't agree with bobby pins they just fall right out so I just tie it and pin hairs that stick out. It holds amazing too. Lasts me all day :) hope I helped
