I've always had trouble doing my eye shadow because I have hooded lids but I'm trying to learn how to perfect it for my eye type...don't really know what I'm doing y'all. Its easier on other people.

Agree with sarah, maybe a liquid liner? but very very thin line if you have hooded eyes, I have to do a thin line too, but like sarah said shapes fab x

A smokey eye is when the lid color is darkest and fades up in to the lightest shade. Kind of like a real fire it's darkest at the base and fades up and dissipates into the air. lol hope that help or made since.

Not technically, no, it's pretty though :) a smokey eye is dark over the entire eyelid gradually lightening above the crease. I do like that shadow shape though.

Laney is right. Technically this isn't a smokey eye

I have slightly hooded eyes and found that a true smokey look doesn't look all on me due to my eye shape.
For hooded eyes, what you did here us good but try to make the darker area above your natural crease to give the illusion of a higher crease and therefore less hooded eye. Also, eyeliner in my opinion should be thinner and the wing should extend up a little more.
This is what I've found works on me. Keep experimenting with different shades and areas till you find something you like :)

For hooded eyes your transition color (medium shade) should be blended up above the fold of your eye. Your lid still needs to be the darkest shade for it to be considered a smokey eye.

What you have is the making for a basic eye look- I'd still say blend the crease color out more so it isn't a harsh line focused in the crease.
