I use OLIA by garnier in Light intense auburn and it works great :) probably one box, I use less than one

You don't have to buy a box dye. You can just put a red semi permanent red dye over it (no developer needed) to refreshed it. Clairol and Ion has some nice ones at Sally's Beauty Supply (source: my mom who is a hairstylist of 27 years)

I agree with Brittany. I really like the Olia one. It doesn't have a harsh smell or burning sensation and comes with lots of product. If you put a plastic bag over your head the oil melts a bit and spreads more. I use it and have long layered hair.

I personally feel that olia was not good for me, symone's idea sounds pretty good, I use Schwarzkopf dyes and their colour holds extremely well so that's what I would recommend
