I have to buy makeup brushes, so tell me which are the essential ones. Also tell me is it really necessary to buy expensive ones or will the ordinary ones do?
brush sets which are not expensive are also available so what about them?

Inexpensive real techniques are fantastic.

If recommend the real techniques brushes, they're inexpensive considering how much brushes usually cost and they're fantastic quality. It depends on what makeup you do usually to determine what brushes you need, but personally look into getting a blush or powder brush and a foundation brush with a tapered end so it can double up as a concealer brush. If you do eye makeup, a fluffy shader brush and a blending brush are good choices. If you like eyeliner or do your brows, a little angled brush can be used for both (just remember to clean it!) :) hope this helped.

Juhi, I think you can get a mix of expensive and inexpensive to make the best mix of brushes.
Some brushes you can buy cheaply: Elf eye shadow brushes for example are just fine. You can get a great brush for doing gel eyeliner from an art supply store for 3$.
Other brushes I think it's better to spend more money on: a foundation stipling brush for example, a good blush brush, a nice fluffy all over face brush for blending, a good blending brush for the eyeshadow area. There is another thread with recommendations for these in it. IMHO I would either go all out and buy a really nice brush (Jacqueline mentions some) or buy cheaper. I wouldn't buy M.A.C for example. Their brushes cost a lot for how long they hold up. They start out great but seem to get ragged quickly, to me.

Real techniques and eco tools make some really fantastic inexpensive brushes.
