Most people put only a little bit of water on it just to make it easier to get the product on and to stay on, my friend does it but she has really unruly curly hair.

I would personally use it in dry hair since water would create a barrier between the oil and your hair and prevent it from penetrating the cuticle.

Just like with a serum. Unless you're using it as assistance with.detangling.

Dry hair has a better absorption, it referes to balsam and masks too:-)

If your using If as a mask I would put it in dry hair for better absorption.

I use oil or any hair mask on slightly damp hair. Like I wait an hour or two after showering or spray it a bit with water. But it's like 80-90% dry. I find doing it this way helps it glide on easier and doesn't let any spot absorb in big globs. My hair is quite damaged so it absorbs super quickly.

For masdks I meaned not super dry, absorb the water with a towel for, but you could also use a mask on dry hair before washing hair:-)

Coconut is the only oil that can penetrate the hair shaft, so you can put it on dry or wet, other oils like (olive, jojoba, etc) just create a barrier to keep things from getting in or out.
