Try the comb chase. Take thin sections that are more width than thick. Hold (not like the pic but by the handle) a comb or brush in front of the flat iron and glad slowly down the hair shaft. Then go back over it without the brush/comb.

Air dry or blow dry your hair first and use a good quality heat protector, I use pro naturals argan oil heat protector. I also have their shampoo and conditioner so I use that before I start. Separate your hair into 4 sections, two in front and two in back and pin up the front sections. The back is harder so it's better to start there first and get it out of the way. Get a 1 inch thick piece of hair from the back section and pull it through the flat iron without pausing. I have a Karmin G3 flat iron and I have curly hair so I set it to 450F, though I start at 350F and work my way up. Flat iron 1 inch sections until all the back part is done and move on to the front. Repeat the steps.

Comb and brush through your hair very well to remove all tangles and knots. Put your hair up in a high high ponytail at the top of your head. Start at the bottom section closet the neck.Use very very thin, flat sections and pass over them slowly with the straightener. My natural hair is a thick afro and I get what my Puerto Rican mother calls "Chink hair" when I straighten my hair with this method.(Not to offend anyone!)
