Ok...so I use Maybelline nude foam foundation. I have yet to find a good under eye concealer to give myself that under eye highlight effect. I started using BH cosmetics 10 color concealer pallette but cant seem to get the right color and it dries fast. Then I tried La colors concealer.
My problem is I perform the under eye effect after my eyeshadow is applied, but when I go to put on the nude foam because it is wet it seems to take off the concealer. So my questions today is
1.Recommend a good concealer to get that highlighted effect ( for women of Color)
2.How to actually do that process correctly ( a video link is always good too)
3. How to avoid the whitish under eye look.
4. Should this be done after full foundation or before foundation and blended together?
thanks a millie

I used to use that foundation, too. And what I found works best is to apply the concealer after foundation. The concealer I have been using for ages now is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. And I use it in a shade lighter than my skin tone and it really helps brighten up my eyes. What I do for applying the concealer is I sweep it under my eye then with a synthentic foundation brush, I use the E.L.F. angled foundation brush, I blend it out. In the end, if I have some streaking I just pat it out with my finger. I hope this helped!

If you are on a budget like I am but also don't mind spending a few more dollars I really recommend for a bright under eye is the hard candy concealer that is your tone or one lighter shade and make a triangle shape under your eye and just place a nice translucent matte powder :)

To highlight I use the same concealer palette you do. I do my eye makeup then my foundation.. I put a lighter concealer in the areas I want to highlight. Bridge of my nose, under my eye, & my chin. I blend it out using my beauty blender sponge I got from CVS. Next I contour my cheekbones (making the fishy face), bridge of my nose, sides of my jaw & hair line.

Even though I am quite light [nc25], I still do this technique & I feel like this lady does has one of the best tutorial when it comes to under eye highlighting! She's a woman of color too.

Also, I see a lot of women of darker complexions use Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser concealer because it doesn't leave a grey, white or ashy cast on your face. They tend to be warmer on the color range so it helps brighten up the area more rather than just pale or white it out. It's a fantastic concealer!

If you want Kim Kardashian's look then use the same concealer she uses & she's mentioned before she uses MUFE HD full coverage concealer, and you can research your question 2 & 3 on YouTube. It should be done after foundation.

Thanks all..@ MaryP. I do research everything on Youtube...Its just that's sometimes a lil feed back from other ppl helps. and I dont want the exact Kim K look..I just used it as an example.....Sometimes the products we choose to use on our own doesn't do a good job or we don't apply it correctly. I like the replies from everyone and it gives me other options.
I also find your reply came off a lil sarcastic...just my opinion!
@ Lyndsey...I do have the Ben Nye banana powder and I LOVE IT!!!!...:D

@Mzkandi R. - i wasn't trying to be sarcastic. Sorry you feel that way. I suggested what i usually do if i want a certain look; is to use the same products that they use. You did say the products you are using doesn't do a good job or you didn't apply it correctly, so i gave my opinion, was not trying to be negative as you see it.

to highlight under eye are you can simply use a lighter shade of foundation in the triangle shapes under the eyes. or put on concealer after foundation. wait for foundation to dry.

Hey girl! Try putting on your under eye concealer after your foundation, and don't put any foundation under your eyes.. Hope this helps.. With the Kim k look, she doesn't have any foundation under her eyes. A great video to watch on YouTube is by Gossmakeupartist! He has a lot of Kim k/ brightening tutorials! :(

I would highly recommend Maybelline Age Rewind, i use it in the shade "honey" which is a little lighter then my skin tone, just to brighten up under my eyes :-)
