Try One with full ceramic plates rather than ceramic coated. I have one and it works great.

Get a 100% ceramic straightner like a Chi or babyliss and use heat protection before you strighten:)

Even with ceramic it still tends to over heat. Just a minor suggest but whenever applying heat you should use protection...sounds odd. LOL and I agree with Cailey I love my chi straightener. I think it's a tad pricy but they work really well :)

I'm using one by Jose Eber, it was around 300ish Singapore dollars so it'd be around 200+ American bucks! its good! full ceramic plates, they do the job. But regardless of what straightener, use heat protection!

My sister got a PYT and I use it all the time! It makes beautiful soft curls and slick straight hair!!
