Listen girlfriend! Your lips are not disproportionate they are pouty!! They are just perfect so any lipstick you want to wear you can. There are tricks out there like shading and contouring but you don't need to do that!

I've started becoming a bit conscious especially after one artist commented that it's so difficult to work on my lips. So I was wondering if I should/could create the illusion of the 'perfect pout' using make up.

You could use lip liner slightly outside of your natural lip line BUT I think your lips look fine && you should wear any color that suits your skin tone!

For a makeup artist to tell you that nonsense @Sneha C. isn't really an artist because a artist can work with everything, anything and make a beautiful outcome. Your lips are beautiful. my lips are the same...bottom lip fuller than top. when I see a girl with even lips I immediately think they have been botoxed.

Your lips are absolutely beautiful! If a make-up artist tells you your lips are hard to work with they're the one with the problem - MUA's (I speak as one myself) should be able to work on a variety of faces, that's our job! You are perfect just the way you are :)

@Shelley: haha. I had a passing thought of getting a Botox but plastic is just not me. If there is anything I could do, I'd do it with cosmetics.

@Jessica: True. A true and talented artist should be able to work on any face. Apparently to make it look even, I was advised to draw an exaggerated upper lip line especially while using bold colors cause apparently it would look odd & obvious on uneven lips. I tried that trick but since my face is small, it looked like I had lipstick all over my face. Lol.
