Its dependa on the megapixels. most newer phones have at least 8mp. if its lower than 8mp the pics arent as clear.

Megapixels don't really matter when it comes to quality. Unless you have an extremely low amount, it shouldn't affect the quality of your picture at all. (Unless you're printing larger photos) It's all about the lens, the aperture and how much light is getting into the lens. I have an iPhone, they take really nice pics. I've seen gorgeous photography with the iPhone. Photos that look like they've been taken with a dslr. You can't really do anything about the your pics unless you buy a new phone with better camera specs, or have enough retouching experience in photoshop to make your photos vibrant and sharp.
