Hair massage will do good...plus you said you stay in hostel, I guess the dryness and frizzy hair is due to hard water...so if possible change the water whenever your having a wash...also try this simple remedy..coconut oil with honey mask...it does wonders...
All the best!

Dove shampoo is the best in my opinion when you pair it with an olive oil conditioner. Using a dry shampoo (it comes in a spray bottle) every few hairstyling sessions will leave your hair healthy and moisturiezed.

Do the hot oil massage thrice a week and you might have to change your shampoo. The Matrix range is very good. Like Kiara said, it might be due to the water.

Do the hot oil therapy. Mix Coconut oil and olive oil in equal proportions, warm it up little bit probably in microwave or so. Apply warm oil to your scalp first then work through the hair length. If possible, leave it over night. Next day wash your hair with mild shampoo and conditioner. You can also use plain youghurt mask once a week. It leaves my hair smooth and shinning. All natural :)

Use sulphate free shampoo and conditioner or make your own ( which is cheaper) I used to live in hostels and that's what I did and I will never go back even though I've finished my traveling days. Bicarbonate dads and water for shampoo and apple cider vinegar as conditioner! A little goes a long way and you save the pennies from not buying expensive treatments! I also do treatments every week with natural ingredients found in my kitchen :)
