Hi Ladies, have you ever bought a foundation online? If so, how did you determine what color worked best for you?

I have. I usually search that foundation and the shade on google images, Pinterest and YouTube

Yeah I do the same as @Symone and I usually search for a girl with a similar shade as me and see what she picked ;) that really works!

I bought kat von d online and did the same as symone and Dani does. Also I used findation.com to search for my shade in other brands.

Findation.com is awesome. Also, Sephora is really good about describing the undertones of the foundation. ie- light with warm undertones, medium with fair undertones. I always look for one with the yellow undertones- IMO 95% of people look better with yellow undertones. I have cool tones and should use cool tone foundation but I find that yellow undertones tone down my natural redness. Also when in doubt between two shades go darker. Sephora has a great return policy.
