Which is worse for hair? I know both are damaging. I barely use either. My hair looks straight when I blow dry it though, which once is better to use? Any tips.

What's your hair type?

It's long and thick. Pretty normal. It's dry at the ends because of winter but I've been treating that.

Well a straightener is squeezing your hair between to hot plates, so that is direct heat. So I would recommend a blow dryer. You can use it on cool too

Ohhh but I meant type as in curly, wavy etc?
If you don't have curly ethnic hair ( like the poofy type ) then you can straighten it without heat just by wrapping it.. and sometimes does a better job than an iron ;O
My mom used to do it all the time when I was little ( after my hair was straightened and after I showered so I wouldn't have to keep straightening it. )
This is a good video to follow.... if you do it overnight make sure you use a tight cap or use plastic wrap! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1RO-d1Z9Hs
