I picked up a backup of the Revlon colorstay today and didn't realize until I got home that it no longer says that it has spf and the color is a bit lighter. did any hear about them using a different formula?

No! I haven't bought it in awhile but that's strange?

The dry skin one looks lighter and says nothing about spf. I'm using it currently. I don't know about the oily skin one looking different, but thats how my dry skin one looked. I ended up picking it because it was lighter than the oily skin one.

Mine is dry skin and it says SPF super tiny at the bottom.

I've had mine for longer than that, and it doesn't say it had spf anywhere, not even when you lift up to read the ingredients. Mine in the the shade 110 Ivory.

I have two bottles right now. both say ivory and the older one is darker and says it has spf. I'll post a picture tomorrow. I hope it didn't change, I really love how it is now.

I've read a lot of recent reviews that it has changed! Look it up on makeupalley.com. The one I have is fine but I'm a little scared to repurchase! Research a little more maybe xo

Its a good thing I stocked up several months ago because with my luck it will suck on me lol.

I've been thinking about this recently. For me, at least, I feel it has changed. The texture, smell, staying power and the way it applies seems bad. It's not as good as it use to be. Unfortunately. :(

In stores when I looked at them the foundations that are supposed to be the same colour looked totally different! It's very strange. I ended up buying 2 different ones. 1 had a thick consistency and 1 had a watery consistency, and they also made me break out with an allergic reaction on my face.

Oh no. that's not good. no other foundation works for my skin. if this ends up not working out I don't know what I'm going to use.

I just looked it up. it says they reformulated at the end of August. might have take a while to sell out of the old stuff. it no longer has spf and reviews say that it is watery and hard to blend. also the dry skin one is no longer moisturizing, now it has a powder finish. :(

Hm,, well I still like it. I never got to use the other kind, but it still works pretty darn well on my skin, and I like the finish on the normal/dry skin one.

Lela yours is the new formula? without spf?
Nov 12, 2013
Lela B.
From what I can tell, yes. It doesn't say there is any Spf in it.

Then I might try it out instead of returning it.

I apply it to pretty small parts of my face at a time, and blend out super well with a stippling brush. or use my fingers. I'm going to look for the old formula to compare.

Okay so I tried it out today and it is different. it has a thinner consistency and has less coverage. the color is off by a bit But is workable. it does make my dry spot look flaky though and my whole face feels dry. I'll let you guys know how it holds up thought the night.

Oh yes, the left one is definitely darker than the right one. Left is the new formulation, right? what a bummer... I have many colorstay foundations in my kit, and use it a lot on clients. I really like it (the old one that is) Will have to see about the new ones...

No the lighter one on the right. it has a bit different bottle too. it's taller. it's holding up fine on my skim But if I use it again I'm going to need a better moisturizer or something because it makes keep skin feel tight and dry.
