It all comes down to the wand you choose. You'll need about an 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch curling wand to do this also take small sections.

A small curling wand, in little sections. It will probably take awhile! Also for the volume, tease or blow dry your hair upside down.

These are definitely done with a curling wand. You can do small sections and don't finger comb it at all. Or do medium sections and pull them apart with your fingers.

Also, make sure when you wrap the hair around the wand, that you don't twist the section as you go. the hair needs to lie flat on the wand.

It does take longer to do curls with a smaller wand but you can usually wear them the next day too! Just flip your head over and massage in some dry shampoo (I love tresemme's) and they look really effortless and sexy :)

I'd recommend a clipless iron too, coupled with a heat protecting glove. if you wanna get the volume on top blow dry as much volume in as you can and use a volume powder. Good luck!
