I used to have the same prob. These could help..
-Your possibly using the wrong foundation shade so try chnging it.
-Exfoliate dry patches before applying foundation and use a primer.Try Smashbox photo finish foundation primer.
- Apply a thin layer of foundation just to even out your overall skin, then go over with concealer on just the blemished areas.
-You can try finishing off with a setting spray.(helped me) Try MAC fix+... hope I helped.. xo

I agree with everything Sabera said. I usually spray a little bit of MAC fix+ on my brush before I put on my foundation, it really helps with giving me a natural skin like finish.

Use moisturiser, and first start off with a thin layer on your face, and do the rest of your makeup. Then, if you need more coverage put it on needed places.

It doesn't affect coverage for me, I use a medium-full coverage foundation, and a very dense flat top kabuki brush to buff it in. Without the fix+ my foundation looks really thick and cakey. But with it looks natural and flawless.
