It is damaging, when you don't take care of your hair. I don't recommend it to someone that just wants curly hair, you also have to maintain it, curly hair is hard to take care of. Depending on what type of solution they are using depends how much your hair can be compromised. I would suggest going to a Paul Mitchell based salon, they have tons of perm options when it comes to perm solutions.
