I'm not moved.
Its too neutral for me. ;-)

I think designers need to come up with a new idea to expand.
michael kors line hasn't moved me either. of course it looks nice on display but the colors aren't unique.

The only thing that comes to mind with all these new cosmetics lines is over priced makeup.

When Tom Ford and Giorgio Armani came out with cosmetics I was all over it but now its all become so overwhelming. Back in the late 1990's Calvin Klein came out with a make-up line. I was all over his eye gloss (yes, eye gloss) and cream eye shadows. That line didn't stick around but Calvin Klein is back with another line called CK sold at ULTA. And that one isn't impressive to me either. Its all about licensing agreements and I'm pretty sure Burch and all the others didn't play a direct hand in product development...why should they when their backgrounds are in clothing design. So it will be curious to see how Burch does.

Its all the same expansion technique. their target market are the same ppl buying makeup n perfume so y not sell makeup/perfume?...
I don't spend on makeup that cost big $ unless its offering something special. to simply sell makeup isn't enough.
I think the ck line at ulta is interesting. I plan to try products from it..
marc Jacobs line has a great color selection.. the rest of these lines are offering the same stuff. (I'm not taking about Armani or tom ford lines).. ;-)

I would give it a try and to be honest the packaging is so cute I would just like to have even one item from the line. Why not?!

I can't do just cute packaging. Its have to offer me awesome pigmentation and unique tone/texture. Because if my drugstore lippie, for example, outperforms a $49 lipstick I have a serious issue on my hands. The only two designer lines that have impressed and worthy of my money has been Tom Ford (blush, lipstick, eyeshadow) and Giorgio Armani (foundation, lipstick, eyeshadow). It should be very interesting to see how Burch does. And I'm sure she won't be the last designer to introduce cosmetic lines.

I think the packaging is eye catching and luxurious. However, brands/people are striking while the iron is hot. They're getting revenue from all avenues while they are still on top and relevant. I'd try it, but what's the price point?

@Nickia...I went to go look for the trade mag that listed the deets (price points) but trash day was this morning and it was in my big can. I do remember the release date...Sept.26th.

It will be interesting to see how am kors n Burch perform n if they start to offer some really interesting colors/textures n in general some impressive wearability..
have any of you (Jacqueline n Shelley especially) tried this line called beauty is life?.
I'm going to try it at some point starting with the lipstick. I think only barbeys carries it here in the states.. swatches nicely. interesting colors.

@Naomi S. Yes I did hear about that line!! The Barneys store out in LA concierge emailed me about it when it first hit. At the time I was stressing about mid-terms so I forgot all about it. It looks very promising and worthy of trying a few things. I have to wait till November though...I'm on a no,no buy.lol.
