Any techniques on how to apply lipstick? Do you use lippier first? Brushes?

I apply lipstick as normal with no brushes, I work on my lower lip first, then on my upper lip, then at the end I like to neaten it up by adding some concealer around the edges, I'm sure there's much better ways to do it with brushes and eyeliner pencils though :)

I have a special trick I do. For the matte lipsticks only, to blot:
-I put a tissue over my lips
-take some translucent powder on a fluffy brush
-sweep some on the tissue I'm holding to my lips
- Boom. Perfect, evenly blotted lips

Chapstick first! It makes it easier to put on.

I exfoliate first (fresh brown sugar lip exfoliant), apply Chapstick (or fresh sugar lip balm), then I use makeup forever's invisible lip liner, then I apply the lipstick, touch up with a brush and then with a concealer! :)

I exfoliate my lips, let lip balm or lip primer set for 30 minutes while I do the rest of my makeup, then apply lip liner, the lipstick & lip gloss on the center of my lips in the shape of a heart.

I usualy exfoliate and balm ,add foundation on my lips so it would last longer.. when it's all set I use liner. recently I discovered that using a brush helps a lot. you don't get extra unwanted lipstick. if you want matte look and don't have a special kind of lipstick you can always add some light powder over the lipstick you already have and add some lipstick after so it won't look dusty , not to much though! you can use dark powder to make your lipstick colour darker. this is my trick. if I use foundation and powder my lipstick last for hours (2-3... but if you don't eat or drink it takes longer for it to fade away)
