You can try lightly tucking out the strands to make it look thicker.

You can loose it a bit by pulling slightly the sides of the braid and leave some wavy pieces of hair to frame your face if it actually bothers you. But 2 me it looks good. Really fresh for those hot days.

It looks good! If you want it to look thicker, pull out stands, loosen it or maybe even tease like the actual braid hair part before you braid it :)
