Need tips to calm it and freshen it up a bit and get it looking ok again! I have to wear thick foundation and I hate it! I'm in uk but willing to try anything! Well for starters if your pores are blocked and your skin is clogged, you need to exfoliate. I can't stress that enough. You can go buy some exfoliator or you can make some at home by mixing baking soda and water or lemon and sugar. Exfoliating is so important to slough away dead skin cells and to remove any buildup on your skin. You can also invest in a little Sonic cleaner or some sort. I use the Neutrogena Sonic, and I feel like it makes my skin soft and I feel like it also helps with exfoliating. Next I would advise a facial mask, or deep cleanser so it can penetrate into your skin and cleanse whatever impurities are there.

For facial masks you can again go buy some (I don't know any) or you can make some at home like an egg white mask, oatmeal and honey, or lemon and honey. Honeys great for the treatment of acne, egg whites are good for acne too and tightening your pores, lemons are good for lightening up any scarring and for acne as well. Oatmeal will help with the complexion and the appearance of it.

Steam! it will help open your pores.. then exfoliate with a good scrub... then a face pack.. lemon n honey works wonders for me too... n honestly.. try n avoid wearing foundation as much as possible... cuz I think it might b makin your skin worse... try to keep your skin clean n with minimal makeup.. try cetaphil face cleanser.. it works well for sensitive skin.. it soothes irritated skin..clyndamicin/facelin face gel for the acne... benzoyl peroxide cream at nite before goin to bed for the spots.. benzoyl might cause peelin of the skin though.. so watch out for that if you try it..

Steam your face first to open up your pores and exfoliate and cleanse afterwards. For the honey, you can apply it all over your face or in the trouble areas. If you apply it all over your face, I'd advise laying down. The honey will drip off your chin if you don't haha. For cleansing and exfoliating I'd do that daily/nightly and for the mask you can try doing it every other day and try using a light moisturizer so that your face is always moisturized or else your face will oil up or dry out more depending on your face type. :)

Hey Emma! Don't exfoliate with a hard one every single night as it will further inflame your congestion, maybe stick to that once or twice a week :)

Try a BHA's product like one with salysilic acid. This will penetrate the deeper layers of the skin and help to clear breakouts. Neutrogena have a power clean wash that contains 2% salysilic acid which is a good cheapie. Just don't leave it on too long in sensitive areas!
