First day of college outfit?

I'm not sure if people still put together outfits for college but since I've graduated from high school and soon to start my first day as a college student I want to put together a cute simple outfit for my first day. Any ideas? Make up suggestions would help to :)

High wasted shorts if you have any with a crop top and some cute jewelry.

I put together an outfit for my first day of college, which was a few weeks ago. I wore a strapless maxi dress w/ sandals. I curled my hair with a wand and had simple makeup. I didn't want to be over the top but yet wanted to make a good 1st impression :)
