Custom dress help!

I am attending Dapper Day in February and already have a dress in mind. It's going to be a 50s sailor-type dress, but I want to switch up the colors for it. I was thinking maybe a deep red for the base color, and black for the trimmings? I need the dress to incorporate black in it because of my accessories.
Any suggestions are welcomed!

Personally I would make the dress black and the piping some sort of color. But it all depends on your style. My favorite color to wear is black, so that's what I would make it. But it would look amazing in any color you make it in, as long as the piping doesn't clash! Just pick a color you love girl.

I was thinking making the dress black too and perhaps a teal piping? Basically any color goes with black haha. I just wanna see what you guys might think
