Try looking for some diy with lemon, or salicilyc acid, the toothpaste is no longer made with the ingredient that cures zits.

My #1 solution for "getting rid" of a zit is drying it out, cleansing the area and treating it. It can't go away overnight, but a bit of toothpaste or clay mask will dry it up quickly. To cleanse use a foam based cleanser not cream, foam is drying, cream is moisturizing and you want to dry it out. I usually put a bit of tea tree oil on mine before bed and a serum and that usually clears up the initial redness and inflammation. Continuing this for two days after usually gets rid of my breakouts completely. And of course TONS of water and green vegetables to cleanse.

Pop a gel cap. Tylenol Advil or whatever you have and apply it to your zit. It'll go down tremendously. You can do this every 2-3 hours.

Seriously the clean and clear advanced spot treatment always makes my pimples less red immediately and go away quicker. I also recommend crushing aspirin and putting it on it as it is an anti inflammatory. I also like tea tree oil! Hope that helps :)
