I've always had incredibly dark, mud/chocolate eyes. Along with my tan and dark hair, I feel dull. I'm always looking for ideas to make my eyes pop but they always seem ridiculous to wear to school every day. I don't want something with an obnoxious color or huge smokey eye, I simply want some close-to-neutral eyeshadows and a liner that make my eyes look bright and large. Is that even possible?

What I do sometimes is line my eyes with a cat eye as I would do with black eyeliner but use a color instead. If you have brown eyes the color green will enhance them. When looking for a color to brighten another look at a color wheel and the one directly across from the color you want to enhance will help bring out the color. In this case green is the color for you.
Hope this helped. :)

I also have brown eyes and black hair. And what I usually do is I use color eyeliner or I use pink, peach, or any light colored eye shadow. Also using great mascara that increases volume and length works great :}
