I think lots of layers helps you get an edgy look since you can tease it for volume or do ponytails with the bangs and some shorter hair in front. A bandana folded up with a ponytail. Honestly layers are the way to go :)

Try and get some layers to frame your face a bit more! Also, get a bit of a trim so your split ends don't continue to split or they'll eventually all just fall off. You could always try heatless hairstyles, there's tons out there. There a lot of cool braids out there and a lot of ways to get overnight heat less curls! Ex.
•scrunching- when your hair is damp, scrunch till dry, with it without styling creme. This will give you cute beach waves
•head band curls- put a head band on damp hair and wrap your hair around it. Leave over night
•buns- out your damp hair in little buns over night for loose curls
