You could try rubbing an ice cube over the area to numb it a bit or actually coughing as you pluck the hair. If its really bad, taking Tylenol or Advil 20-30 minutes before might help too.

Other than that, it gets less painful the more often you do it.

I do it straight after I take a shower since your pores are open, which helps the hairs to pull out less painfully.
