Hmmmm, how about a cute but comfortable top, maybe a tank top with a shoulder hanging sweater/ sweatshirt with maybe a pair of sweat pants?? Sorry if this doesn't help I tried haha. Also for the hair since your trying out I think maybe a braid or a ponytail would be nice?

I always wear a shirt that has my school's colors. I wear spandex for practice, but for tryouts I wear a pair of soffe shorts and white cheer shoes (If you have them) Put your hair in a pony tail. Good luck! :) :D.

Um I cheered for 6 years and I can tell you that you should keep it cute and simple, wear shorts ( you may wanna go as short as your comfortable ) and a cute top but make sure it's something you can move in NEVER wear jeans or jewelry!! Big no , no lol and then do cute high pony and you'll get some pretty impressive cred the bigger , cuter , and more accessorized your bow is lol big bonus points! Hope that helped!! I always wear spandex to practice as well, but I would recommend Nike shorts and a cute athletic ish tank for try outs and (if possible) a cute cheerbow in your hair!
