I hate shrinkage.. so I blow dry my hair once a month and keep it up like that. My hair is big and puffy which I like but after wet it has really tight curls.
The problem with keeping this style is.. I HAVE DANDRUFF. Ever since I was little. And I could wash my hair more often but I don't want to damage my hair and tire myself blowdrying and flatironing my hair to combat shrinkage.
I was thinking I could fix this by doing a manual cleansing of the scalp often but with what? I tried using water and oil mix and a washrag to my scalp. It worked for a couple days. I need helpppp
For those with knowledge in curly hair I Think I have Type 4c. tightly coiled.

Is it dandruff or dry scalp? There is a difference, gross as it is, grab a piece, if its waxy its dandruff if its dry, it's dry scalp. A shampoo specifically meant for dandruff or a tea tree oil based would work. If its dry scalp however, a dandruff shampoo could actually make it worse. If its simply dry scalp doing a deep conditioning treatment would be more beneficial.

I have the same problem you do Tiffy. But mine is worse. I have s.dermatitis. I used t-gel shampoo by neutrogena and that's helped a lot. Also used a little tea tree oil on your scalp. Only a little though. I found that when I use excessive oil on my scalp the dandruff gets worse. And also make sure you're not using other products directly on your scalp. I have 4c hair type too. Hope my input helps.

I have dandruff too, and I use the Selsun Blue shampoo thing. I also use a moisturizing conditioner, like Herbal Essences Hello Hydration, and wash my hair every 3-4 days. Both are found at a drugstore. Hope this helps you! :)
