What should I do with my hair?

I've had plain, middle part hair with no layers or bangs for a while now and I've decided I'd like to try something different. My style is slightly Girly but masculine in a way. My hair is currently a few inches below my shoulder. Should I get bangs, layering, side bangs? I want to be able to clip bows into my hair. Pictures? Tips? Thanks :)
