I want to grow out my very short hair that I'be had for quite some time. any ideas in how to have it grow a bit faster than normal... thank you...

Clip in extensions help so much. Keep the back trimmed till the top gets longer. You don't want to have a mullet. I hear biotin works too. And lots of scalp massages.
