My hair stylist keeps recommending that I come to her for a keratin treatment.. It's kinda pricey that's why I haven't got it done yet. Has anyone tried it? Is it worth it.

I'm so not in the know. What is Keratin treatment? is it like a deep condition treatment?

Thanks Alyssa! I really want to.. She says it will straighten and tame my disgusting frizzy hair.. But it's not cheap haha. Just wanted confirmation before I threw the cash down

I've not had one done but while interning at salon I got to watch one being done.

The results were amazing. It was a woman with very THICK, long hair, soo frizzy. I can't remember exactly how long it took (hours though for sure)

When she left it was very shiny, very silky, and frizz free.

@Kristin... I'm not exactly sure how it works.. But I read that it's a protein treatment that is applied to your hair and it has to sit for a while.. Then it's flat ironed to seal in the product.. Shouldn't wash hair for a few days and supposedly tames fly always, frizz, and straightens

I just happened to think, it varies from hair type to hair type. It WILL grow out so depending on how "crazy" your hair is, it can look pretty funky :/ So hopefully you've got a nice honesty stylist, but make sure you know the commitment and are willing to do it.

I know how much are charged for them here, but depending on where you're at it could become a very serious regimen at a steep price.

Sorry, I'm rambling but anything involving chemical manipulation I'm a bit of a babbler. Sorry!

Your welcome, Beth! I used to have unmanageable ridiculous frizzy curly hair and had it done. Don't expect your hair to be straight by any stretch, but it REALLY tames the frizz and craziness. If it's done correctly, it should last until your hair starts to grow out, so your roots will be the first thing to frizz back up. I've also noticed that since getting mine (and mines pretty much grown out) that my hair coming in is a lot less frizzy and more manageable than it ever has been! Good luck and let me know how it goes!

I'm a hairstylist and I do keratin treatments. There are many different types you can get some are more pricier than others. Depending on the type of hair you have and the length can also determine the price the one that I prefer to give my clients start out at $60. It should last around 2-3 months depending on how often you wash your hair and are you using good quality products. I always tell my clients to only use product from either a salon or beauty supply store. You may spend a little more but why spend so much on it getting it done professionally and only having your color or keratin wash down the drain.
