It's really simple if your tanning in a chair you need to make sure that the chairs shadow is behind it. Your different colors because the sun isint directly on you it's hitting places harder than other places. Lol confusing to explain.

Align yourself/chair with the sun and realign every hour. Also constantly flipping back and forth every 10-30 mins will cover all.
