Is it true that washing your hair every day is bad and will slow down hair growth. What are styles to wear hair on days when haven't washed.

Yeah it takes all th natural oils from your hair and it ends up straw like. on days when my hair is a tad greasy and I dnt want to wash.it I either slip it into a pony tail or have it half up half down or clip my fringe back. sometimes baby powder can help soak up grease n give you an extra day of no washing your hair xx

It's better to wash every second day. I've asked hairdressers but I've been told its fine as long as you use heat protectant when styling with heat. It keeps in natural oils when you don't wash everyday. As for growth my friend had washed and blow dried and straightened her hair everyday for 2 Years, it got quite long. But she had to cut off a few inches from not getting trims.

For in between days try dry shampoo and you could even leave your hair down depending on how oily your hair gets, batiste is the best. But yeah second dawns options or even a sock bun

I've gotten away from washing everyday to save time. I find if I pull it back, it just makes the greasy roots more apparent so I use dry shampoo and leave it down.

Ok no. Cosmetologist here. Washing or not washing your hair has nothing to do with growth. You wash your hair when it feels dirty because you want it to look nice. Hair grows under the skin. It is nourished in the papilla and grows out of the follicle. Two things will affect length. Nutrition or breakage. Take biotin to make it grow faster and make sure you eat healthy and make sure you get your hair trimmed regularly to remove damaged ends so that they are not breaking off causing your hair to appear to not be growing.

Ps dry shampoo is for people who can't wash their hair due to illness or disability. It's like putting baby powder in your hair. If your hair is greasy just wash it.

When I was an athlete in highschool I washed everyday. I had to. Didn't change the amount of hair that came in. My hair still grew like a dang weed. Now I'm washing maybe twice a week and that's only because I'm not out working up a sweat every single day. Amber L is right on point about the topic.
