I mean, it's not necessarily going to burn your hair, but you're causing a lot if damage to it that you can't fix.

Yes, you should put it. maybe you just think that it doesn't burn ypur hair, but after some time you will see your big split ends :/

I don't use a heat protectant per se, I use a leave in conditioner that will protect from heat and have multiple other benefits as well.

Yes! I use Joico shine and heat protectant serum or Garneir Fructis heat protector. What Cassidy said is wrong, half of it. When she said you can't fix the damaged hair, you can. In many ways in fact. Leave in conditioner, no heat, overnight miracles. The list goes on and on
