Is a bold lip too much sometimes?

I've gotten into brighter and darker lip colors lately and wonder is it too much sometimes? Like work especially? I'm very pale so it's quite dramatic.

Hmm personally I think a "going to work" outfit shouldn't be like a POW! look. its best to turn it down a notch & look professional ( :. Brittanny girl your gorgeous! don't get me wrong ^.^ but maybe a dark lip color isint that suitable for work. save it for the weekend girl! (;

I agree, maybe a more subtle lip color for work in order to look more professional. Remember to tone down the intensity of your eye makeup if you're going to do a bold lip. But being pale doesn't mean you can't rock a dramatic lip colors! It's all about the undertones of the colors you choose, keep experimenting!

I usually only wear liner and mascara with a bold lip anywhere because I look like a clown with eyeshadow too! There aren't any rules against it, but most there wear light pink or neutral colored lips. I'm still getting used to myself with dark lips so maybe that's why it seems dramatic to me. Thanks girls!

If it's a bold lip color, then you have to be bold and wear it where ever you want! ;P I do, and it gets you noticed in a sea of soft colors. It's refreshing to see when I see others wear nontraditional lip colors. There's not a law saying you can't have a bold eye makeup WITH bold lipstick. Pffft! I've worn green, red, purple, dark red, and neon pink lipstick to work, and everyone thought it was a hoot! Of course I get made fun of, too, but I just give it right back to them! Lol xD.
