In need of hair makeover, what to do?

So for the past 2 years I have been growing my hair out from a platinum pixie with only a trim maybe once a year. I am absolutely horrible with keeping my hair managable when its long, so now I am stuck with very dry broken thin hair. I think I just need to chop it all back off and stick with a short do. Having a hard time deciding between going back to a pixie or something more chin length. Here are two I'm deciding between. Any thoughts from you lovely ladies?

Or this...my hair is quite curly once short as well. Right now my hair ends up in a top knot every single day :(

I'm thinking of getting #1 as well for my straight coarse hair. Waves just collapse after a few minutes literally!

Jane, same here my hair is so lifeless when long, but as soon as it's short it just has so much more volume.

Sabrina you sound like me, I wear my hair up every day in some horrible bun like thing and barely ever go for cuts. Love #1 think would look great on you.

Thanks Jennifer! You girls are all so helpful. It always takes a nice push in the right direction to get me motivated for a change. My boyfriend of a year and a half has almost never seen my hair out of a ponytail or bun so figured it was time to change that  :-)
